is the Ocean Palms Elementary School's electronic catalog.   Type in your search term, and then click on the method you would like to use for the search: author, title, subject, or series.
You may also search by Accelerated  Reading (AR) level. renaissance%20place%20icon.gifClick on the Browse tab.  In the rectangle near the right top, type in the AR
level:  This is one set of numbers, not a range of numbers.
For example, AR 2.1 will bring up a list of materials available in the Ocean Palms media center at that one level.   If you type in a range, such as 2.1-2.8,  the computer will not retrieve what you need. When a list of numbers  appears on the screen, find the number you want, and double click on it.  A list of call numbers, titles, authors, format of the media, and whether the book is in, out, lost, or discarded (due to injury beyond repair) reveals information about the book.  If you then click on the word "call" in the first row, the books will be in order by type of book: fiction, non-fiction, easy, early reader, and Dewey Decimal numbers (non-fiction)  books.  Some books have a GR, AV CST, AV BST, RDAL, and R and may be checked out by teachers.

A new part of Renaissance Place for the Accelerated Reading (AR) program is called Home Connect.   This feature allows a parent or guardian to see the results of his or her child's AR quizzes, how many quizzes the child has taken, upon what books have they taken the quiz, and other relevant information.  This encourages parents to help their child's AR progress by viewing the goals of percentage correct quizzes (between 85% and 100%).  The username is the child's username for taking a test.  The password is AR. Another aspect is AR Bookfinder which checks to see if a book has an AR test available. There are more books with AR levels than a public school library media center can hold.  A parent may choose to purchase a book for a child to read.  The student takes the test at Ocean Palms Elementary School.  A teacher may also ask to see the book prior to testing if it is not in OPE's collection.

Parents may also sign up to receive an email for each quiz their child takes on AR by login into Home Connect.  Parents must access this site using the child's username and password.   This option is located on the top right hand corner of the screen (email setup).  Once a parent signs up for email, he or she will receive email each time the child takes an AR quiz.
